The Don is Gone

The brave Captain has left the building.. In the time-honoured tradition of going down with the ship, he has decided to check-out just as human-kind reaches it's lowest ebb. Viddy this nice short from 1993 in which Don van Vliet shares some of his unique observations. Thanks to Spragg for the link.

Don van Vliet is currently co-writing a musical about the much-feared vegetarian wing of the National Rifle Association with Hunter Thompson entitled "Carrot Gun: The True Story of the Bean-Eating Bullet Beans".. It will probably take forever to finish.

Woe is a me bop.

Holy shit!!!

Extra, Extra: Fear and Loathing in London

Too much gold here to single out one nugget of sheer panic from the extra thick marker pen of doom that is the London Evening Standard headline. One conscientious camera buff's five year diary of a Standard seller's brain farts.

Iron Sky

Hey.. Here's an idea.

What if the Nazis had secretly developed their rocket technology to the point that they could send a man into space?

In Iron Sky, the new movie from the creators of Star Wreck (a Finnish language spoof of the Trek) Nazis have been living on the dark side of the moon for over 50 years and are now preparing their invasion fleet of flying saucers to return to Earth.

Filming begins next month.. Hopefuly this has nothing to do with fractals or syncromystisism.

Goodbye Benoir

I don't know why, but when I heard this news today I thought about watching Scanners again.

And it gets weirder.. After a quick search on YouTube another name pops up; Nassim Nicholas Taleb, a student of Mandelbrot's fractal theories who uses mathematics to predict market trends in western economies (predicting the stock exchange.. sound familiar?). There are numerous interviews of both men predicting a massive economic collapse back in 2007. One interviewer asks them if it will be as bad as the great depression. 'More like the American Civil War' they agree. Taleb also wrote a book entitled 'Black Swan' the same year which uses chaos and fractal mathematics to explain what he calls his theory of 'Black Swan Events', the way seemingly out of nowhere shock and awe events can effect and mould society and markets. I don't know if you know this but Aronofsky's new movie is called 'Black Swan'. And I'm not even joking right now I decided to google 'The Eraser' and the same time 'Paranoid Android' starts playing randomly on my iPod. I'm going to bed!!

H. R. Giger Revealed

Sup?

I was genuinely a bit weirded out by the fractal thing.. Not because it makes more sense the more I think about it, but because the idea is considered so 'out there' compared to more 'rational' explanations like an all powerful Sky God or cosmic chances comparable to winning the lottery millions of times in a row. I'm not 100% sure how to take Dawkin's 'work'. He and his devout following are forming an organised religion just as up their own arses as any other. The Sir David, however will have to knock on my door and punch me in the face to lose my respect after all the great work he's done on the goggle tube. As usual, the truth is somewhere in the eye of the hurricane with a wailing shit storm of opposite opinions swirling around it. It's hard to accept that it will never be known because we're all such egotistical prats, but I'll get over it.

I think I'm in love with the Burtos Renaldos or whatever. I agree with the comments about the Bo Ningen vid but I still like the track (don't you fucking kai). Been listening to Waits' Blood Money this week to prepare me for the festive season. I have the great joy of putting up Christmas decorations at work this weekend. Bag 'o shite.

I found this site promoting a new(ish) retrospective DVD of Giger's work today. Lots of info and some clips of his work which have been animated. Nice site! Check it out.

Buscando a Reynols from Kimosabbe on Vimeo.

Bo bbins! the studied posing and calculated, syncronized jump into drumkit left me cold.
Some cunts have watched Ringu too many times, nicked my nan's patchwork blanket and are trying too hard....tedious pricks!!!

Burt Reynolds are the real thing.

TerraFractal

As always McKenna, Sheldrake & Abraham (The Grandfather of Chaos Theory) have something to say on this.

It would certainly make sense that earliest life forms here mirror the fractal arms of Galaxies and the obvious mathematical language of universe. Which for this blimp points to intelligent design. Why can't evolution be a program in the software of intelligent design? Which leads us to Dawkins & Att-man. Did you notice David looked like an albino, silver back gorrila taking a grumpy shit at the feet of Dawkins on the recent Gurdian (Weekend) supplement cover (Sept 11) with Cox & Hawkins? (Which all trace of has vanished from the internet on just having a look for the 'missing link') Ironically titled 'Gods of Science', i wonder why these heavily funded patrons of consensus reality make it an either or position...oh, did i just answer my own question?

Pi in Your Face?

Watch Pi again.

I've had a few 'Close Encounters' moments this week.. Without the mashed potato. All signs point to my DVD collection.

I recently watched a TED talk by Ron Eglash titled African Fractals which was pretty impressive. It's admirable that there are people like him out there doing research into left field subjects which all too often turn out to be of incredible significance once we begin to understand their meanings. Who'd have guessed that as far as history records, African villages have been constructed as fractal forms?

Next, the Red Ice Radio podcast from way back in 2007 with Jake Kotze. I'm currently (slowly) working my way through a 300 hour download of RIR. This week I listened to Kotze mention Darren Aronofsky's "The Fountain" and "Pi" while discussing (you guessed it) syncromysticism. In particular the idea of the fractal as the 'life code' which is the repeating theme in "Pi". The Tree of Life which is featured in "The Fountain" also appears in evolutionary science as a fractal diagram showing branches of the evolutionary process.

Last night I was listening to the Guardian's excellent science podcast with David Attenborough and Richard Dawkins discussing various points including Attenborough's current, soon to be published research on the Pre-Cambrian, the period before multi-cellular life on Earth spanning seven eighths of the planet's history. Rare fossils from this period were recently re-appraised by Attenborough and others who have now proved them to be evidence of the first complex life forms.

The connection?? Oh yes.. The newly discovered Pre-Cambrian life forms are fractal.

Of course we knew.. Shoredich Twat, Nathan Barley et al warned us of this sad tidalwave of desperation long ago. Still they multiplied. Still they steal our air.
Happily the bashing of the cool kids continues however, and this time to music. Thanks to Rich for the tip-off.

I'm sure by now you've seen it.. Definitely one of the most interesting and polished docs I've seen for a long, long time. Must have taken ages to go through all the footage Harris had collected throughout his various projects. What's brown and floats in the Enterprise toilet?

Captain's log.

Nice to have a chat the other day.. As things look now, we'll be staying in London from 18th to 21st August, and before that we'll be in Weymouth from the 14th. I'll call you when we get there to discuss you buying me a beer.

Things have been pretty uneventful here. Just trying to enjoy the weather and some time off, but can't find much energy for the blog at the moment.

Been following theboxandtheghostinit. Some rare treasure indeed.. It will take some time to digest. Also been listening to the Meat Sweats latest offering (got a copy from Rich a couple of weeks ago).

Have you heard this recent Flaming Lips project? A very decent collaborative re-tread of Floyd's DSOTM.

In other news, during our holiday we did as promised visit Alpo Koivumäki's 'Savannah' of reclaimed wildlife. Absolutely amazing! Although we got ravaged by mosquitoes the whole time we were there. It was nice to get some more detailed photos and see works in progress. Unfortunately the man himself wasn't there.

From there we went to St Olaf's (another one on the 'to-do list'), a Middle Age church which after a fire some years ago has not only been completely re-built, but the trustees had a brain fart and invited two of Finland's top contemporary painters to step in and decorate. The result is spectacular!

Check this clip.. It's in Finnish but who cares? The symbolism of the mural around the alter is explained by the artist as a depiction of the seven days of The Creation and man's banishment from paradise (the eye being sky god, with Adam and Eve as elephants). The upper tier of the gallery shows the Easter story in almost a comic strip format.

What's next, you ask? Well next we went to Nummijärvi for Taabor 10. An outdoor exhibition of Finnish outsider art collected from around the country.. Wow! The show included some of Alpo's animals as well as some experimental film and installation work from oddballs I'd never heard of.

And if all that isn't exciting enough for you..

Dark Mountain Project

As usual, the subject of civilisation's imminent collapse draws me like a moth to the flame. Last week after reading an article in the Guardian on the impact of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, I started doing some checking into the Dark Mountain Project.

Co-founded by Paul Kingsnorth (One No, Many Yeses), it's first offering is a collection of writings which propose as statement of fact that mankind's current free fall into oblivion is already past the point of return.

The project manifesto is militant and matter of fact, as if they know the planet is about to fart us off into space at any minute.. Hopefully they'll have enough time to say 'I told you so' before we go.

There will be a Project gathering in Wales later this month.. We'll soon find out if they're serious.

Personally, I think the only hope we had was Bill Drummond's failed attempt to balance world vugum by placing an effigy of Elvis at the summit of Everest. Maybe it could still work, but with much stronger medicine.. I'm thinking this Kev Hopper track, Jimmy Savile's jewellery and the severed head of Madonna.

Meantime: Kev Hopper

PS. As we won't be around after the shit hits the fan.. Here's some postcards from after man.

Taken on Hashima Island, near the cost of Japan (also known as Battleship Island or Ghost Island).. It's got the same dead vibe as the photo stories on 28DL, but it's a whole abandoned city!

Up All Night

Looks to me like you're spending way too much time on this guy..

That said, I do like the traktor picture.. And the guitar solo.

I'm working on a small mind bomb for him right now.

God's on his way back and is tunning into the blackest gullivers first so we don't kill him on arrival...and  here i was thinking all that praying, clapping hands & killing folk was a load of guff. You live & learn.
I started a new blog just for musics theboxandtheghostinit this is the first compilation. I'll be posting you ear medicine recipies after i've tested them for side effects.
I've only heard 'Woods' Sunlit 7" tis lush. Is The xx album worth getting i only know the dubstep version of islands on 'Playlist B' will check out your other recomendations.

I've been getting worse. I really don't want to go back on medication but it seems like the only way i can function in society and put up with the horrorshow is to be drugged to the gills. There's obviously not enough fluoride in the water these days.

Yep. Back on Fakebook. Just needed to shake the shit off my tail. Not that i will use it. It's a social networking site that has shown me that i should never have socialized with these wet brained bum-gee.

I know, I'm Rubbish..

Apologies for not being more active on the blog.. Russia invaded Finland 3 weeks ago and we are currently living from day to day on whatever scraps of food we find amongst the rubble of supermarkets and fast food outlets. Internet connections and phone signals are weak and inconsistent.. Tell the World.

Not much has actually happened, of course.. Except I currently have tinnitus, which is driving me a bit nuts. Story goes.. Three weeks ago. Dropped a stepladder. The end. Part of my inner ear has now been permanently damaged causing part of my range of hearing to be replaced by a whining hum (similar to a TV test signal, so you know).

Naturally, I'm suddenly very interested in a subject which normally would have bored me stupid. I've researched two possible reasons for this condition which I like the sound of.. One: The sound is a phantom, similar to an amputee experiencing an itch in a limb to which he's no longer attached. The sound does not exist in any measurable sense and in the view of medical science should be treated as a mild mental illness.. Two: I can hear my brain. Some scientists believe that an operational brain produces background noise which is normally filtered out by the inner ear. This filter can be temporarily, or in some cases permanently switched off by a loud noise or inner ear trauma.

What sounds better..? A ghost in the head, or hearing myself think? Both are fucking annoying.

How's tings with you?

Is witch finding your new profession? I see the Colonel's on Facebook.. Is he back?

Been listening to the Fire on Fire.. Which I like.

Also listening to The XX, Woods, Os Haxixins, Sun Araw and whatever else takes my mind of the test card.

And thank fuck that the Yanks have made a super shit looking version of the classic TV series 'The Prisoner'.. It reminded me to watch it again.. Which you should too.. fantastic!!

New one..? Bag of shite.

I Almost Gave Up.. Almost.

This could be the musical equivalent of scientists suddenly discovering that there is intelligent life in the Universe.. Another Kimosabbe?

(day 1) ShalomGerusalemme

What you do: out of the cemetery?
amen

You're suffering because you are stubborn. satanists and all sinners rebels are monstrously retarded they are like those fish that are killed by fishhook, because it is hidden by the worm tasty. Damn bad selfish: why, what are they doing out of the cemetery? Drink your poisons made by yourself! Amen with a mathematical calculation of averse of Revelation I can show how the 2/3 of the human race, are counted to hell with you. And the bank seigniorage, much has been written in the Bible,Revelation 6.6 here says: "I saw a black horse and he that sat on him had a pair of scales in his hand. [6] And I heard a voice in the midst of four beasts "A measure of wheat for a penny and three measures of barley for a penny Oil and wine are not wasted". Now go cursed. at your condemnation. Amen. BUT YOU GO DOWN While I GO ON

Your time is near, time to show your extreme loyalty to Satan.Alleluia! +Mene+ Techel +Peres + ->PAX. Amen. rises YHWH and His enemies be scattered! like chaff scattered by the wind, like burning wax so are the wicked for Glory of the Lord. Sons of Darkness "lorenzojhwh" tells in the name of Jesus: "Now you must burn!" STOP: halloween antichrist pride slavery blindness Satan Go! CSPB CSSMLNDSMD VRSN SMVS MQLIVB for the destruction of your: satanic alien SpA Freemasonry seigniorage banking for you: fire food is harmful diseases shame Dishonor depression obsessions infestation Cloak of lead. Woe to you cursed.Elijah is back and you'll need to get off the river Kishon with him where you will be executed: "Drink your poisons made by yourself" and your boss jew belonging to Marduk. with this ceremony, I hit your ascending hierarchy (up to the enlightened) and descended. I linked you, to the foot of the cross, to knowledge of your opinion of damnation.Amen

(day 1) crippledfonz

i love you 'lorenzojhwh'....you're my favourite silly sausage.x

amen

Sure, God loves all his children. But you are a child of Satan and when with your bloody death will end your fucking life. It'll finally mercy for you will end. In fact, in Luke 19.27 - Jesus says: And those enemies of mine who did not want me for their king, bring them here and slay them before me" Alleluia! Revelation of St. John says: "those who take the mark (666 or micro chip) will have to drink the cup of God". We're talking about something that is: 1. size of a grain of rice 2. invisible because it is put into the body. But looking at you, one sees the spectacle of Carnival of an entire city. You and this joker of Satan, you are both whit serious psychological problems

@crippledfonz is my fault, if you represent yourself, with the face of a rotting corpse?
What I wonder is: "what you to do, makes a body outside at the cemetery?"
If you read it, the comments of my page? you would see how I humiliated all the enemies of God, and if some cellule of your brain: is not yet rotten, you would not desire to come on my page: for sure
____________________________

A challenge! then what i can only assume at this point, a fury so potent it can only be expressed in a magical language i've yet to decipher. When this bastard hex is decoded and i'm finally freed of those heavy lyrics I WILL 'desire to come on my page: for sure'
....To be continued

jesus obviously can't cure the lame

Still using the same old trick of co-opting pagan traditions to lure the feeble minded into the church. These fucktards either really believe this bollocks or have all gotten together and figured out to the nearest decimal point how to piss me off. Near the end of this a blonde flop haired gonk tells us how all his christian friends have fucked off to college and never call him (the source of his depression since age 13) Then states 'The only friends that call me are my stoner buddies' ...really? How fucking christian of them you cock tear.

5) Dick Cheney Shot Me In The Face

...abyss iS run.

After 3 days of investigations, letters and a disiplinery i was fired by 'asS ruby sin' for having a cig outside the front of the shop at 3:45 a.m.... on my tea-break. I know. I'm just thankful they didn't get the army involved.
On leaving the store i shook hands and said goodbye to the spineless, rubbish twithead who suspended me, as i passed him having a cig with another manager i often smoked with.
I've not spent time with this grade of human since my school days and the push is a welcome one.
As it turns out spring has arrived and a month or two off sounds lovely.
I think this is a better place to communicate with you Grockel. It feels more kimosabbe and looks blacker than my email account.
Love to all the smurfs.

02 - My Name Is Rar-Rar - 'Hell On You, Nina Simone' (Sounds like a RIAA mash-up. Very nice)
03 - Winston Dee - 'Free Terry Waite!' (I'm guessing this was fucked together in 1987 by Cowell or Waterman... either way they are bald cock guilty. Terry was released in 1991 due to the fact his captors never heard this shit. His bicycle was rusted too the fence at Canterbury Cathedral.)
04 - Nouveau Noise - 'Cinnte' (Plinky-Plink lushness from MySpace)
05 - The xx - 'Islands (Nosaj Thing Remix)' (Never heard the original...Guess it's indie. This is probably better for you)
06 - Syd Barrett - 'I'm Not Here' (Looped..looped..looped..looped..looped..lovely. The lasts words said by Syd on a Floyd recording and a fond farwell)
07 - McDonalds 'Miniture Golf' (a short sweet punk idiot)
08 - JohnnyBoy - 'You Are The Generation' (Baroque pop shimmering with the spit on shallow consumers you should piss and spit on)
09 - Nigel Price 'Says You' (Some Nigel of 'Monk' from his MySpace. More than sublime acoustic jazz guitar)
10 - Lukid 'Fela' (This is all i know... and that i like it. Reminds of early 90's acid jazz clubs))
11 - The Muppets In Hebrew - (fantastic images fill my gulliver)
12 - Michael Mills - 'Adam Ant and Bow Wow Wow' (From real American radio 'Hidden & Satanic Messages In Rock' ....as always the christian right focus their energies on a fucking nonsence)
13 - The Dicks - 'Hate The Police' (A punk classic....Mudhoney also do a fine cover of this)
14 - L-Seven - 'Insanity' (Pisses on L7 from a managable height so as to keep the stream directed at their awful fucking faces...from early 1980's)
15 - The Last Men - 'Jimmy Igo' (An struting punk rock song about fucking a corpse....Lou Reed smiles, but it just looks like that raisen in sunglasses from the advert covered in pubes from the carpet)
16 - Decree - 'Death Pig' (First cut promo from..squittybubbler.com) - (More dirty bass..metal? A mad-mental dirty protest by prisoner Charles Bronson.....in the future)
17 - Ashcroft & Bacon - 'King Jesus' (Yes, John Ashcroft was always an idiot fucking minge bag bollock)
18 - Mark From New Jersey - 'Interdimensional Technology' (The best half of the best conversation ever.....'don't say shit about my uncles and shit, you cocksucker')
