Homemade Helmets

Following on nicely from the last post to another lost kingdom of Africa, where recent revolution also gave birth to a new range of bizarre civilian battle gear including cooking utensils and baguettes.

Lost Kingdoms of Africa

The guy who posted this sounds like a religious nut and the host of this four part BBC doc is basically a gay Indiana Jones wannabe, but don't let that put you off.

This is currently showing in Finland, you may have caught it already on BBC 4 in the UK. I got a bit hooked into this after reading Robert Bauval's Black Genesis, an interesting (very opinionated) study of early African empires which stretched the length and breadth of the continent, and which were just as sophisticated as the Egyptians.. Some interesting stuff and amazing ancient architecture. Worth a look.

Buttonhead

Not an album post, but a post about an album, so this isn't going in the ghost box..Yet.
This is one I've been waiting for. Buttonhead's new release 3D Opera Whale is out in March, and ahead of that comes this impossibly good video.
